You can factory reset a Yealink T58W Pro using the physical key on the front of the phone by long‑pressing it for a few seconds until the reset prompt appears, then confirming on‑screen.

Before you reset

  • A factory reset will erase all personal settings on the phone (account registration, custom ringtones, local contacts, Wi‑Fi, etc.).

  • Make sure the phone is powered on and on the main (idle) screen before you start.

Locate the reset button

On the Yealink T58W Pro:

  • Look at the row of hard keys under the screen.

  • Find the key directly above the volume bar (the long rocker key used to turn the handset volume up or down). This is the button you will press and hold to trigger the reset on this guide.

  • Make sure the phone is idle (not on a call) before you press and hold it, until you see the ‘Factory reset’ option.

Step‑by‑step: Factory reset using the button

  1. Wake the phone up

    • If the screen is dark, tap any key once to wake the display.

  2. Go to the home/idle screen

    • Press the Home or Cancel key if needed so you are not in a menu and the main idle screen is showing.

  3. Press and hold the reset button

    • Press and hold the button above the volume bar firmly.

    • Keep holding it down for X seconds (typically around 5–10 seconds.

    • Do not release until you see a message on the screen asking to reset to factory settings.

  4. Confirm the factory reset on screen

    • When the “Reset to factory settings?”, tap OK / Yes on the touchscreen.

    • If you are prompted for a password, enter the administrator password. If you do not have the administrator password, contact your administrator.

  5. Wait for the reset and reboot

    • The phone will restart and show a message such as “Welcome Initializing… Please wait”.

    • The phone will then possibly display an ‘Updating Firmware’ message which could take around 15 minutes to fully load.

    • Do not unplug the power or network cable while it is resetting.

  6. Let the phone re‑provision

    • After reboot, the phone will load its factory defaults.

    • The phone will then automatically download its configuration from your phone system (auto‑provision) and sign back into the correct account.

If the reset does not start

If nothing happens after holding the button above the volume bar:

  • Check you are on the idle screen and not in a menu or on a call.

  • Try holding the button a bit longer than X seconds (many Yealink phones use about 5 seconds to trigger a hardware reset prompt).

  • If it still does not work, you can factory reset via the menu:

    • Tap SettingsAdvanced Settings → enter admin password → Reset ConfigReset to Factory → confirm.
